Key Features

  • Automatic Wavelength Configuration: Features an automatic wavelength setting function via the digital keypad, reducing manual operational errors and improving analytical repeatability.
  • Digital Data Display & Storage: Equipped with a 128×64 dots LCD screen capable of displaying up to 3 groups of data per screen. The system can save up to 200 groups of data and 200 standard curves internally, featuring a power-off memory function to restore data after a sudden power cut.
  • Quantitative Measurement Modes: Supports basic photometric testing and quantitative analysis. Users can establish standard curves directly on the instrument for routine concentration determination.
  • Lamp Lifetime Management: The tungsten lamp and deuterium lamp can be turned on or off individually through the system settings. This helps extend the service life of the light sources when UV or visible measurements are not simultaneously required.
  • Extended PC Functionality: While functioning as a standalone device for standard photometry, it includes a built-in USB port. When paired with optional application software on a PC, it supports Wavelength Scanning, Kinetics, Multi-Wavelength, and DNA/Protein analysis.

Applications

The UV-1100 provides standard photometric and quantitative analysis across various fields:

  • Environmental & Water Testing: Routine colorimetric determination of chemical oxygen demand (COD), nitrates, and heavy metals in water samples.
  • Agricultural Chemistry: Testing of soil extracts and fertilizers for essential nutrient concentrations.
  • General Education: Used in high school and university teaching laboratories to demonstrate Beer-Lambert Law principles in both the visible and ultraviolet spectrum.
  • Industrial Quality Control: Basic absorbance and transmittance testing for raw chemical materials and manufacturing solutions.

Who is it for?

  • Academic Institutions: Teaching laboratories that require a durable, easy-to-operate instrument for daily student use and standard scientific demonstrations.
  • Small-Scale QC Laboratories: Food processing, chemical, and agricultural testing facilities that need to perform routine fixed-wavelength assays in both the UV and visible range.
  • B2B Procurement: Distributors and tender bid companies seeking a cost-effective, automated UV-Vis spectrophotometer for basic laboratory setups.

Why choose it?

  • Cost-Effective UV-Vis Analysis: By providing access to the ultraviolet range (down to 200nm) while maintaining a standard 4nm bandwidth, the UV-1100 serves as an economical entry point for labs that need UV testing capabilities without the higher acquisition costs of advanced 2nm or double-beam models.
  • Simplified Maintenance: The instrument utilizes pre-aligned tungsten and deuterium lamps, allowing laboratory staff to perform light source replacements easily without calling for professional optical realignment.
  • Standalone Convenience: The instrument can process up to 200 sets of data directly on the device, eliminating the strict requirement for a dedicated PC for basic quantitative tasks.

Packaging, Installation & Operation

Packaging & Shipping

After unpacking the instrument, compare the contents with the packing list and check that all items are present and undamaged.

Installation & Setup

Place the spectrophotometer in a suitable location away from direct sunlight, dust, corrosive gases, and strong vibrations. For stable operation, keep it away from strong magnetic or electrical fields and electrical devices that may generate high-frequency fields.

Keep the area around and underneath the instrument clear to allow adequate airflow.

Use the appropriate power cord and connect the instrument to a grounded outlet.

Initial Operation

Turn on the spectrophotometer and allow it to warm up for the recommended time before taking measurements. Follow the instrument’s operating instructions to complete any required system initialization, calibration, or wavelength verification before measurement.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

In standalone mode, the UV-1100 is designed for fixed-wavelength quantitative and photometric analysis. To perform full-spectrum wavelength scanning, kinetics, or DNA/protein analysis, the instrument must be connected to a PC utilizing the optional application software via the USB port.

The UV-1100 operates with a fixed 4nm spectral bandwidth, which is the standard specification for routine quantitative analysis and educational applications.

Yes. To perform measurements in the ultraviolet range (below 320nm), standard quartz cuvettes are required because glass and plastic absorb UV light. Glass or plastic cuvettes can still be used for testing in the visible range.

Yes. The UV-1100 features a pre-aligned optical design. When a tungsten or deuterium lamp reaches the end of its service life, it can be replaced by the user without requiring complex optical realignment.

No. The instrument features a power-down memory function. Standard curves and up to 200 groups of test data are saved internally and can be restored after a sudden power cut or normal shutdown.
